As always, New York-based photographer Anthony Saint James is in constant motion. Saint James is a part of the creative center at MacDirectory. For the past three years, Saint James has been taking arresting photographs for MacDirectory. We caught up with the versatile and inventive Saint James recently to discuss his work, his influences and, of course, his Macs. Saint James travels frequently, though he spent his childhood in the tri-state area of New York, he is currently making up for lost time. "I was raised in New Jersey, just outside of New York City," replied Saint James. "I also spent my summers in Pennsylvania."

Anthony Saint James began his chosen vocation early. "I received a Kodak Instamatic camera from my parents for Christmas at about age 8," Anthony remembers. "I've continued 'preserving' since then." Saint James comes from a background not unfamiliar to the fashion world. "My father was a designer/pattern maker of woman's sportswear in New York City," he tells us. "Although my father died when I was eleven years old, I believe my early interest in art was his doing."

Anthony Saint James' web site is best viewed on a Mac running Netscape 4 or higher. Anthony's photography has appeared in GQ, New York Magazine, VH1 and on Warner Brothers records.

"I love and embrace technology. It allows me limitless possibilities to
express myself, but by no means do I overlook conventional methods."
