Boston, MA -

Steve Wozniak
is probably the single most important person in the microcomputer revolution. In addition to that, he is also one of the most interesting humanitarians around. So what is up with Steve and Singer David Lee Roth formerly of Van Halen?

MacDirectory found out that Woz is a big supporter of rock music festivals, including the memorable 1983 US Festival where thousands gathered to listen INXS, The Clash, Motley Crue, Ozzy Osbourne, Triumph, Judas Priest, Scorpions and Van Halen.

The 1983 music festival was for many people the world's biggest party. Conditions were gritty: 100+ degree heat, no water and there were crowds of people everywhere. Because of limited space, the parking lot turned out to be a 24-hour party zone with bon fires, fireworks, beer and a lot more we can't mention here.

When asked if he is happy with Steve Jobs' leadership at Apple, Woz states, "Yes, it feels like some long ago days." And what about the future? What does Mr. Wozniak want to see Apple do?

When we asked Steve what he thought of David, he replied, David was in an joyous mood. This was before he got drunk...and he told me how hed run his daily 8 miles and had to push the others to work out hard enough to be in shape for their strenuous stage performances.

Now 49, Woz spends his time with his charities, his family, and his friends. But what does he do when he's totally free?

"Mostly keeping up with email. I don't believe in hiding out but something has to change or I'll lose every bit of time I have."

On the controversial topic of Steve Jobs compensation, Woz told MacDirectory the following: The compensation is Probably OK. It's for the Board to decide. I would have declined it under the circumstances as I know them. But it's deserved and I wouldn't expect anyone else to so decline. Anyone who criticizes it should be able to say that they could have done as well for Apple."

"Dominate the world of computing."
