Fashionweek. That was the start. Then I started to work with other fashion designers including Amaya Arzuaga in Spain and London. I have been doing her shows since her first. Slowly, the list has been stretching, including clients like Gucci, Christian Dior, Oscar de la Renta, Badgley Mischka, Richard Tyler, Vivienne Westwood, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, Carolina Herrera...

MD: What is the most difficult aspect of your work? Javier: It is difficult to predict what the mood of all the designers each season. The nature of fashion is fickle and no one likes to get pinned down in one mood for the rest of their career. So when you think you have the right formula, they turn around and change into the next thing. There are some exceptions, but the pressure of a 12 minutes show - which is the actual time that a show lasts now - is very high. They want to make a real impact, and the music is key. Also music meetings are difficult. Some of them are done 24 hours before the show starts, which means I have to run to my studio and remix all quick on my Mac so they can listen to it before the show.

MD: With all this pressure, how do you manage your schedule? Javier: I work two seasons a year, each last a month and half. I start off in NYC then London, Milan, Paris, although NYC is the biggest amount of work. Then I have all kinds of other projects. Smaller fashion weeks, store soundtracks, music consulting and composing, television advertising - my first commercial is coming!!! And of course I still DJ live in NYC and at other big fashion-related parties.
MD: With the amount of projects you currently have, what are your personal thoughts about Macintosh systems? Javier: Mac is the only system I know and would ever work with. Every time I open any other PC I'm lost. Macs are so friendly to use and, for my type of work, their menus are excellent and easy. They make things a lot faster and easier."
