Built Like a Tank Thinktank classifies this bag for camera use, but I can see multiple uses for this bag. Journalists need a place for their computer, camera, paper pads, magazines, an extra shirt or underwear, etc. Engineers look for places to stash calculators, a small computer, work pads, even binoculars. Artists require space for a small canvas, brushes and paints. Teachers use lots of pockets to stash papers, lesson plans, discs, computer, their lunch, etc. Catch my drift?
Check out the Zippers First, the bag construction is great (sturdy waterproof zippers and water resistant material). Handles are reinforced, shoulder straps have extra padding and they're molded to curve around the body. Metal rings are built to withstand weight and rough usage, but are still attractive.
The Urban Disguise 50 V2.0 is briefcase size, and fits more gear than what's obvious.
For photographers, the bag offers:
A wide angle lens with hood in position, 24-70 f2.8 with hood in position and 70-200 f2.8 with hood reversed
Carries one pro size or regular size DSLR with 24-70 f2.8 attached, plus 2-4 additional lenses
Separate padded compartment fits most 15.4" laptop sizes
Two pro size DSLRs (BODIES ONLY) in padded front pocket, plus 3-6 lenses in main compartment
Separate, padded compartment to carry a 15.4" laptop
Expansion Zipper at the top main compartment to increase compartment depth (to fit a pro size DSLR with lens attached)
Removable, padded interior compartment separators with durable velcro strips
Bottom metal rings for optional attachment straps
For camera buffs and other users, note these features:
Professional appearance, does not look like a traditional camera bag
Numerous, well placed zippered and interior pockets
Easily accessible front organizer pocket
Leather handle clasp keeps two carrying handles together
Expandable front pocket with divider
Rear panel for roller handle attachment can be closed for use as
another pocket
Pockets Galore I love pockets, and I'm hard on equipment. The Urban Disguise Bag 50 will meet whatever I throw it. And it's compact enough that I don't feel like I'm hauling an over-sized work bag. Plus it's professional and attractive looking. If I haven't provided enough information, here are more detailed features.
One feature it doesn't offer is a removable center compartment to easily organize your stuff into the center compartment and then insert into the bag, but maybe that will be a future option. And yes, it's not inexpensive, but considering all the thought and engineering that went into this bag, it's worth it. ThinkTank Photo also offers a lifetime warranty.
