Pablo Calamera has left his position at Apple where he oversaw development of MobileMe. He is now to be based in New York working for Thumbplay, a company founded in 2004 by Are Traasdahl and Evan Schwartz that focuses on mobile entertainment.

Schwartz commented on the recent personnel acquisition and said, “We are thrilled to have Pablo join our team...Technological innovation is paramount to Thumbplay, and Pablo’s talent, experience and commitment to excellence will play a vital role in keeping us at the forefront of mobile entertainment offerings.”

Calamera will reportedly assume his duties at Thumbplay on March 8.
